AJD operates two sawmills. The larger production mill manufactures approximately 85,000 feet per shift. This mill utilizes small logs. These logs are harvested by thinning hardwood stands to ensure future forests’ resources.

AJD produces 25,000,000 board feet of lumber annually. Advanced precision equipment saws, trims, and stacks the lumber. Sizes are sorted on a computerized 28-bay sorting system.

The smaller mill saws larger, higher quality logs. The higher quality oak and maple will be used for furniture, flooring, and cabinetry.

All waste from both mills is used to produce electricity at a nearby 34-megawatt co-generation plant.

AJD produces over 30,000 yards of prime hardwood and pine-processed bark annually for the landscape industry.
